The BSBA from Haas School of Business at University of California Berkely is one of the most highly sought after business degrees in the world and one of the top two applications our firm dedicates our time to each year.

We dedicate ourselves to Haas because the typical Haas applicant is extremely motivated and competing at such a high level, they need every additional resource to help them submit the strongest possible application that differentiates them from other applicants.

There are several ways to apply to Haas. Applicants can apply from high school or transfer internally or externally–a number of different programs (called pathways) exist at Haas to allow students to earn their business degree independently or in conjunction with another academic focus.

Haas Admissions Options

Focusing on the undergraduate pathways, Haas offers multiple degree options:

Direct Admit Option – Apply from High School

  • Spieker Undergraduate Business Program – this is a four-year program that requires you to apply to Haas during senior year of high school. If you are not admitted to Spieker, you will be considered for an undeclared major in the College of Letters & Sciences. Note that 2024 is the first year that high school seniors are eligible to apply. Applicants submit a UC application and then a Haas supplement.
  • Management, Entrepreneurship, & Technology Program (MET) – for students interested in studying both engineering and business. You will finish with two bachelors degree. If you are not admitted to MET, you will be considered for undeclared major in the College of Letters & Sciences.
  • Global Management Program (GMP) Sciences – for learning global perspectives. If you are not admitted to GMP, you will be considered for undeclared major in the College of Letters & Sciences.
  • Robinsons Life Business, and Entrepreneurship Program (LSBE) – for students interested in studying biology and business. If you are not admitted to LSBE, you will be considered for undeclared major in the College of Letters & Sciences.

Transfer College Students

You may apply only once during either sophomore or junior year after having completed all prerequisites. Haas BSBA is a two-year program.

Why Haas

Haas is a unique program for many reasons. The career outcomes for a Haas graduate may be exceptional because of the name power on their resume, but also because the Haas education is distinctly powerful. In addition, due to Haas’s career resources, alumni network, industry affiliations, and location at the epicenter of innovation, graduates are some of the most highly sought after and employable we see each year.

What Haas is Looking for

The ideal Haas applicant will have demonstrated academic achievement, consistency and impact in extracurricular activities, leadership, and exceptional communication and analytical skills. Haas utilizes a holistic review process to evaluate applicant fit, meaning exceptional grades and involvement alone will not suffice – thoughtfully and strategically developing your entire application, specifically essay narrative and language, is essential to demonstrating fit. Haas describes the ideal candidate as someone who embodies the four Haas defining principles:

  • Question the Status Quo
  • Confidence without Attitude
  • Students Always
  • Beyond Yourself

When to Apply

There are several ways to gain admission into Haas. Historically, the majority of our clients apply to Haas during the fall semester of their sophomore year at Berkeley– these students are applying for the most commonly sought after two-year Undergraduate Business Program (Business Major), finishing with a BSBA. See the link to the Roadmap to BSBA with year-by-year suggestions and resources. We expect interest in the high school applicant options to increase significantly each year.

Roadmap

Haas has created a 4 year roadmap to help guide students in expectations and goal setting.

Important Dates

An important date for the direct admit and external transfer programs is November 30th , which is when the UC application is due. Applicants then have until January 5th to submit their Haas supplement.

For internal transfer applicants, key dates are March 1st (Haas application released) and April 1st (application due). Note the quick application turnaround time!
